I call them the Elders: Mose Yoder, Dennis Hostetler and Henry Miller - even though they are younger than my son, Dave. We often discuss the differences and similarities of our two communities - Amish & English ( as they refer to us ).    As we all have seen, they strive to avoid the perils of our technologically driven world. With only the slightest nod to it when they borrow our phones, fax and use batteries to run their engines and headlamps.      Despite the distance between the Amish communities of North America, they are in close touch. Not only do they travel all over to visit the sick and aged, but just to visit kin, too - as far away as Iowa and Kentucky.     continued
