Jon retired as a
career teacher of English at Wiscasset.
His love of literature paralleled his love of the books that were the vehicle of
those
words.
He and his
wife,
Judith have lived on Benner Lane for over 20 years where they raised
their four children and enjoyed the homesteading life with animals
and gardening.
Upon his retirement,
Jon took the time to explore more fully the mechanics of bookbinding and
in turn the art within the craft.
He, now rebinds
books for antiquarian
booksellers and specializes in 17th century bindings. His clients are among
the some of the most respected in the field.
Jon uses the
internet to locate the early books that are his specialty , both by
their literature and their period cases.
Here is a recent article on Jon.
