When we first came
to The Big Island three years ago we stayed with Choys at their vacation
rental. Dick, his wife Barbara and their two children, Amanda and Adam
are wonderful people.
Once you meet the Choys, You have friends for life. We are fortunate to
have met them on our first trip. We love to get together at their many
and famous barbecues on the water at the "City Of Refuge" (
now the Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park) park below
their home on Honaunau Bay
Their home is located in the beautiful coffee growing region south of
Kona in the town of Captain Cook. At 1600 feet above the famous bay
below where Cook met his Waterloo in 1779, The Choy's place is in the
heart of macadamia nut and Kona coffee plantations.
We encourage anyone interested in staying in a modern and reasonably
priced rental to contact the Choys. Indeed people from home have taken
our advice and agree.
