Scenes from the Fair at Omakau

On the inland loop to St. Bathans we come across a
tiny delightful country fair. In some ways it is like our fairs but in other ways it
was very different.
There are exhibitions of "flower pictures" and novelty sculptures from
vegetables and fruit.
On another page you can hear how their "parade" is actually a moving
advertisement with robust commentary on the attributes and deals on the
new tractors, trucks and machinery parading by to the sounds of pipers from the
neighbor town Alexandra.
The pictures of country nudes are from a local farm group calendar.
Mark Skelton was the source of sheep information I had been looking for - hear
his report on another page.
