The Early Irish in Whitefield

The Whitefield Historical Society annual Day of Remembrance is scheduled for
Sunday, October 25th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. and we are fortunate to have
Professor Edward McCarron, Stonehill College, as our speaker.  Among his
publications is "Facing the Atlantic: The Irish Merchant Community of
Lincoln County, 1780-1820," in They Change Their Sky: The Irish in Maine,
Michael C. Connolly, ed. (University of Maine Press, 2004), 61-95. 

His research is focused on Irish History and Irish-America. He is currently
writing a book on the Irish in early New England: exploring transatlantic
patterns of migration and Irish lives and perceptions in the New World.
